Sderot, a city in the northwest corner of the Negev , bordering the former Gush Katif, has been under terrorist missile attack for over seven years. Since the disengagement from Gush Katif, the missile attacks have increased, both in intensity and frequency. These attacks have sent the members of the 10,000 families into shelters and panic. It has made life unbearable in many ways.
The region has also taken a tremendous economic hit. With residents spending less time in town, local business has slowed to a trickle and those residents still in town find it both physically and emotionally difficult to leave their homes and shelters.
